My research interests

The number of marine species surpasses those found on dry land. This ranges from the recently discovered microscopic marine bacteria to the largest mammals in the universe, the whale shark. With the increasing human population pressure on utilisation of some species coupled with global warming, many species have become endangered. This has driven my research interest to marine biodiversity and conservation. Currently in my thesis Iam working on the ecological and socioeconomic assessment of Mombasa Marine Park and Reserve in Kenya, looking at biodiversity trends with human interaction.
