After spending a few moments on this site, one might ask where and which teachers tried to keep me on the right track, well, here you might find a clue:
Kindergarten ('Kleuterklas'): 1991 - 1994
At Van Asbroeck in Jette (Northern part of Brussels, Belgium). I used to go there because my grand-parents live at about 100 meters from that school.
Primary School ('Lagere school'): 1994 - 2000
As we moved to Vilvoorde in 1992, it seemed obvious to go to school in Vilvoorde. I did 6 years at the Basisschool van het Gemeenschapsonderwijs in the Ledeganckstraat. Most people of Vilvoorde will now this school by its nickname "de paviljoentjes" ("the pavilions") because of its many green spots. Those green spots are now built on unfortunately, because the school had to expand to ensure all of its pupils to have a place to stay dry in during the not so uncommon Belgian shower. Today its official name is "Klim-Op" (meaning both Climb-Up and the Ivy plant) which somebody 'cleverly' copied from a fictional school that was mentioned in our math books.
Junior High School ('Middelbaar'/'Secundair'): 2000 - 2002
During my first two years of Secondary Education (so this includes both Junior High School and regular High School!), I went back to my educational roots in Brussels, as I went to the Sint-Pieterscollege in Jette, which was about a kilometer away from my grand-parents, with whom I passed a lot of time after school. At the Sint-Pieterscollege I attended the first two years of Latin (actually, the first year was Latin, the second year was Ancient Greek and Latin).
In 2003 my father's work was going to move to another location in Brussels, so it was a choice between having to travel more than 3 hours a day to get to Jette or change schools.
High School ('Middelbaar'/'Secundair'): 2002 - 2006
As the solution to this problem was obvious I changed schools, my last four years of Secondary Education I went to the Koninklijk Atheneum in Vilvoorde (nowadays "Het Atheneum", which has always been the name people used), which was only about one kilometer from home and most of my former friends from Primary School went there. Here I continued studying Latin (with extra mathematics and sciences) for 2 more years, which I really hated doing. After those years I could change to the full-blown education in sciences and mathematics as those subjects interested me more than anything else.
University ('Universiteit'): 2006 - future
Currently I'm doing my fourth year of Ingenieurswetenschappen (engineering) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, what the future will bring is also a question for me...
